Multiply the chance to wound by the chance the target fails its save. Under a half, Crit (Mortal) beats Crit (2 Hits); over a half, 2 Hits wins. Mortal never does less than Auto-wound.
Each buff applied to every rated unit in the data, scored against the game's real defences (damage buffs) or real weapons (defensive buffs).

Every rated unit's save, weighted by its points: the defences attacks actually meet. The teal part of each save is the share that also has a ward.
How many times harder each defence is to damage than no save and no ward, against the attacker's first ticked weapon. A ward rolls against every damage point, so Rend doesn't touch it.
Every unit and weapon profile here comes from data/aos-units.csv in the Statshammer GitHub repository: unit name, faction, health, save, ward, keywords, weapons, abilities, loadouts, points and unit size. The lab reads that file and works out all the probabilities itself.
Edit the data file on GitHub and the lab shows the change on its next load, with nothing to rebuild. ↻ Refresh reloads it straight away. If the file can't be reached (for example when this page is opened from your computer), the lab uses the copy built into the page.
- The attack sequence follows Core Rules 17.0–20.0. Unmodified 1s fail and an unmodified 6 to hit is a critical hit. Hit and wound modifiers cap at ±1 and positive save modifiers at +1. A ward is rolled for each damage point, and excess damage carries over to the next model.
- A critical hit counts as a hit even when a −1 to hit would otherwise make the 6 fail.
- Crit abilities, Companion and Charge (+1 Damage) are read from each weapon's ability text. A unit with the CHAMPION keyword gets +1 attack on its non-companion weapons; for BEAST units, on companion weapons.
- Weapon options come from the data file's Loadout column (Default or Option), and Weapon Models gives how many models carry each default weapon. Ratings use the default loadout, and the calculator ticks only those weapons. For a unit the data file hasn't marked, two or more non-companion weapons of the same type in a multi-model unit are read as options, and the one with the highest average damage into a 4+ save is used.
- Anti-X, other conditional abilities, spells, prayers, and charge, run and rally rolls are not modelled.
- "(Scourge of …)" variants are alternative points for an existing warscroll, so they're kept out of the game averages to avoid double counting.
- Warscrolls bought together (the data file's Bought With column, e.g. the three Freeguild Command Corps warscrolls) are rated as one purchase. Their damage and effective wounds are added, then divided by the points of the warscroll that carries the cost.
